CS Board and Frost: What Does the Documentation Confirm?

Vitcas CS Fireplace Construction Board for documented indoor use

The high temperature given for the fireplace board is not a declaration of frost resistance. In the case of CS, the purpose and exposure conditions must be checked separately. The documentation indicates indoor use, so it does not provide a basis for declaring the suitability of any garden setup in winter.

Start with confirmed use

Vitcas Fireplace Construction Board CS is described for specific fireplace structures and indoor fireplace inserts. It is this scope that should be compared with the plan. An open gazebo or garden enclosure does not automatically become indoor conditions due to a small roof.

Record contact with precipitation, moisture from the ground, and seasonal environmental changes. Operating temperature, support method, and exposure to water are separate data. Do not replace missing information with a single value from the product header.

The adhesive does not change the intended use of the board

HB60 also has described applications in appropriate external connections. However, this feature of the adhesive does not confirm the suitability of every board attached with it under frost exposure. Requirements for all section materials should remain consistent.

Similarly, an additional coating or accidental impregnation does not constitute documentation of the entire system. If the proposed arrangement goes beyond the scope of the CS data sheet, a confirmed solution for these conditions is needed. Do not assume its parameters based on the appearance of a dry sheet.

Record the selection boundaries

Before purchasing, compare the installation location with the product description and the device manual. Keep the source and the date of data retrieval. In the project record, separate confirmed applications from questions requiring further clarification.

For the described internal conditions, select the appropriate CS fasteners and finish. For the outdoor plan, confirm a solution that covers moisture and winter conditions before ordering sheets. Such a decision allows ordering the product according to its intended use instead of relying on high thermal resistance to resolve all weather conditions.
