Summer Kitchen: Separate Worktop, Wall and Hot Zone

Vitcas HT Fireboard for documented protective applications

In the summer kitchen, the worktop, wall and firebox are close to each other but serve different functions. A single heat-resistant board does not automatically solve each of these tasks. Start with a cross-section showing what carries the weight and where heat protection is needed.

Describe the layers and equipment

Mark the appliance, worktop support, and wall materials, including the hidden ones. Add a place for placing dishes and the route for removing tools. The specific firebox requirements regarding installation and clearances should remain visible in the drawing.

When installing outdoors, take into account water from above, from the side, and at the base. A covered worktop does not confirm the conditions of the entire wall. Assess the exposure of each layer before choosing its finish.

Select panels according to their role

HT Fireboard has described protective and surface applications. Ceramic fibre board is an insulation format for compatible systems. However, similar sheet dimensions do not imply identical function or allowable load.

A heavy worktop requires its own support. Do not arbitrarily assign it to a panel chosen based on temperature. Also, a hot vessel and wall heating from a firebox create different contact conditions, which must be checked for the given surface.

Check joints before closing

HB60 is used for the described temperature-resistant connections, including suitable outdoor work. Check the compatibility of the adhesive, board, and substrate. The parameters of a single material do not automatically change the purpose of the entire cross-section.

Fit the equipment and check access to corners, fastenings, and required holes. Take photos before applying the final layer. In case of later repair, it will be clear whether the defect concerns the finish, insulation, or support, instead of choosing a product solely based on the appearance of the crack.
